# Initialization

Once the appliance is powered on, it initializes automatically. No action is required during initialization; the appliance completes it and transitions to a ready state.

## Initialization sequence

On startup, the operating system loads and the Kubernetes environment (RKE2) initializes. During this process the appliance automatically:

* starts and configures all of its containerized services,
* establishes its internal networking,
* loads the application services, and
* prepares all data pipelines to receive traffic.

The appliance transitions to an operational state once all services have started. This takes several minutes.

## Confirming readiness

When initialization is complete, the home page is reached by browsing to `https://home.apps.lark`. The home page is the central view of system status and links to all deployed applications; its top banner displays current resource capacities and usage. Once the home page loads and sign-in is available, the appliance is online and ready for operation.

<Note>
  Reaching the home page and signing in are covered on the system access page.
</Note>

<Tip>
  If the home page does not load after several minutes, confirm the BMC/NIC component is fully seated and that all cables are connected correctly. Startup progress may also be monitored over the BMC through the IPMI, as described on the physical setup page. The troubleshooting section covers startup issues in detail.
