The LARK connects to a standard 110V/120V AC power source using the included power supply and cable. The appliance requires a stable, continuous power source for correct operation.

Power requirements

The power connection must be secure, and the source must be capable of supporting continuous operation. A dedicated, reliable circuit is recommended.
An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is not included but is recommended. A UPS protects against the data loss and interruption that can result from an unexpected power failure.

Unexpected power loss

The appliance continuously captures and writes data during operation. An abrupt loss of power can result in data corruption, incomplete writes, or applications left in an inconsistent state. The appliance does not automatically recover data pipelines interrupted mid-operation, so a stable power source is essential. Following an unexpected power loss, recovery proceeds as follows:

Wait before reconnecting

Wait at least two minutes before reconnecting power and restarting the appliance. This allows residual charge to fully discharge and helps clear transient faults.

Restart the appliance

Reconnect power and start the appliance.

Verify recovery

Once the appliance is back online, confirm that the system is healthy and that all applications have returned to a running state before resuming operation. System status is covered in the administration section.
Because interrupted data pipelines are not recovered automatically, a stable power source is a requirement rather than a convenience. Any data being written at the moment of power loss may be incomplete.
