During operation
The appliance must be placed on a stable surface during operation, with ventilation pathways kept clear. Obstructing airflow can cause the appliance to overheat and affect performance. All internal hardware is permanently mounted within the case. Internal components must not be removed or modified, and no item may be inserted into any opening or cavity in the appliance. Doing so can interfere with airflow, alter the appliance’s balance, or create unsafe operating conditions.Preparing for transport
Before the appliance is moved, the components intended for removal during transport must be removed.1
Shut down the appliance
Perform an orderly shutdown before removing any component. The shutdown procedure is covered in the maintenance section.
2
Remove the power supply and cable
Disconnect and remove the power supply and power cable once the appliance is fully powered off.
3
Remove the BMC/NIC component
Remove the BMC/NIC component from the front of the appliance. It is recommended that this component be transported separately from the appliance, both to protect it and to prevent the appliance from being powered on without it installed.
4
Secure the case
Reattach the case covers and secure all latches before moving the appliance.
These components are reinstalled as part of setting the appliance back up. The reinstallation procedure is covered on the physical setup page.
